Agreement Signed between Ritsumeikan University and SickKids

The College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Ritsumeikan University and The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 31, 2016 for the “Special Study Abroad Course” that offers fifth year pharmacy students an opportunity to join a study abroad program in Toronto, Canada.

The “Special Study Abroad Course” is a two week long program that offers students from the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences the opportunity to learn about the health-care system and pharmacy practices in Canada by observing clinical case conferences and clinical ward experiences at SickKids along with lectures at the University of Toronto. The program was specifically developed to give pharmacy students aiming to be clinical pharmacists in hospitals, as well as pharmacists in dispensaries and industry, the opportunity to acquire a greater global perspective.
Students are able to practice their previously acquired English language skills and build upon the specialized medical knowledge they developed through their “Clinical Clerkship in Hospital/Community Pharmacy” in Japan.

The College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and SickKids is committed to providing pharmacists with a global perspective and to developing their capability to play an active role in society and the world.
