Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Certificate Program

Course Aim

The aim of this program is to provide pharmacy professionals with interactive, case-based curriculum that prepares them to apply pharmacokinetic principles and knowledge for the purpose of providing effective therapeutic drug monitoring for commonly used medication in paediatrics.

Program Overview

Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) represents a key clinical service provided by clinical pharmacists for paediatric patients. The goal of this service is to promote optimum outcomes by maintaining serum drug concentrations within a therapeutic range for the purposes of optimizing therapeutic efficacy and minimizing adverse effects.

The Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Certificate Program offers participants an interactive, case-based curriculum that prepares them to provide effective therapeutic drug monitoring for patients within their organization. Participants will engage in 25 hours of didactic lecture based curriculum and case study discussions at regular intervals throughout the course duration. Certification is obtained based on course attendance and participation, completion of assigned TDM Cases, and the learner’s ability to apply pharmacokinetic principles and knowledge of TDM practices via a final exam.
