What is Telemedicine?

The Tele-Mental Health Education Series is designed to educate and further develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes for those providing mental health and psychiatry services, support and education for children and adolescents in a variety of healthcare settings. This unique education delivery model allows your clinicians to maintain regular connections to the curriculum while remaining embedded in their own unique organizational context and practice setting. Interactive teaching methods are emphasized, including the use of case-based discussions and flipped classroom experiences. Education sessions may involve two centres (point-to-point), or more than two centres connected at one time (multi-point). The real advantage of using videoconferencing for education is that entire programs and multi-disciplinary teams from different institutions can participate in a single event. Seminars are geared at either an introductory or advanced level to meet the needs of the diversity of practitioners at our far sites. In addition, the seminars within the series can be scheduled longitudinally over a period of time, in order to allow for consolidation of learning between sessions.
